Because behind the smile, there is pain. You think no one knows what’s happening in your mind, but maybe everyone does. Maybe people will laugh at you, hate the way you live, the way you love, the way you are. You could be the smartest kid in your class, the most athletic, the cutest girl or the guy everyone has a crush on. You could be the loner, the one that you think no one cares about, the fat one, the one that thinks you’re fat. The one that drinks away their feelings, that hides behind parties and recklessness, anyone. But at least you are you. There is only one of you. Someone in the world is out there looking for you, because you are beautiful and you are you. You have so much to offer to the world.
You might laugh at this post, brush it off like it’s nothing, pretend like it’s funny, but we’ve all had pain. We’ve all hidden something, pretended like we’re okay. You say you don’t care what people think, or you always have a smile on your face. But they say to know true happiness you must first know true sorrow. So go ahead, laugh, but this is a seed, and I hope it grows. If you see someone in need, help them. It doesn’t matter who they are, what they’ve done. You could wake up tomorrow morning and a whole beautiful human being could be gone. A person is a person, no matter what. Sometimes a helping hand is all someone needs. Let someone know they are loved.
And please, don’t be the beautiful human being that is gone tomorrow. Because I am telling you, right here and now, that you are loved.
